The EASIEST No Knead Crusty Bread
When sourdough seems too daunting, try this loaf recipe that comes together effortlessly.
Although I consider myself a confident baker, there’s something about bread that I’ve never been able to master. So much so that it’s on my goal list this year to figure out why. Sourdough? Killed the starter. Cinnamon Rolls? Never as fluffy as I want them.
But, another goal of mine this year was to not buy things that I could easily make at home. Salad dressings, desserts, etc. Soup is on the menu at least once a week in our household and I’m always craving a crusty bread to pair with them. So, I tried my hand at what is often called the no-fail, no-knead crusty bread and it really lives up to it’s name.
Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsps salt
2 tsps instant yeast (aka 1 packet)
1 1/2 cups warm water
Instructions:
Pour water in mixing bowl and add the instant yeast. Stir and let it sit/activate for 10 minutes.
Add in flour, salt and mix until you have a sticky, tacky dough.
Spray cling wrap with non-stick spray (just incase it rises very high the spray will avoid it sticking to the cling wrap) and cover bowl. Let rest for 1 hour.
Preheat your oven to 450ËšF.
Flour your surface and pour dough out. Very gently (remember, no knead!) work the dough into a floured ball.
Line a dutch oven with parchment paper and place the dough in the center.
Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Then, uncover and bake for another 12 minutes.
Let it rest before cutting into it.
Voila! Slather some butter on top or dunk in a soup and enjoy.
